Six of Crows Books in Order

by Leigh Bardugo

The Six of Crows duology is a fantasy heist saga set in the Grishaverse, following a crew of six outcasts as they attempt an impossible heist that could make them rich beyond their wildest dreams—or kill them all. Set in the bustling port city of Ketterdam, inspired by Dutch Golden Age Amsterdam, the story is darker and more mature than the Shadow and Bone trilogy.

At the center is Kaz Brekker, a criminal prodigy with a mysterious past and a talent for the impossible. He assembles a crew of unlikely allies: Inej, a deadly acrobat and spy known as the Wraith; Jesper, a sharpshooter with a gambling addiction; Nina, a Grisha Heartrender with a complicated history; Matthias, a witch-hunter harboring secrets; and Wylan, a demolitions expert with something to prove. Together, they must break into the Ice Court, the most impenetrable military stronghold in the world.

Bardugo crafted Six of Crows to be a love letter to heist stories, combining the thrill of an impossible caper with deeply developed characters and their interconnected backstories. The duology is celebrated for its diverse cast, LGBTQ+ representation, and exploration of trauma and healing. The characters have become some of the most beloved in YA literature, with the "Crows" developing a passionate fanbase. The series was adapted alongside Shadow and Bone for Netflix.
